This is a beautiful house in a picturesque village surrounded by stunning countryside. The house is really well equipped and comfortable with plenty of space for everyone. We did country walks from the house on both days we were there and the scenery was spectacular - there is so much to explore and enjoy in this area. I would thoroughly recommend this property and hope we might return there in the future.

A lovely furnished cottage with plenty of space for a family. Spotlessly clean and and furnishings very comfortable.

Super maison pour des vacances en famille. Trois très grandes chambres. Et tout pour 6 personnes. Parfait pour des randonnées en forêt, pour visiter les villes de la région, pour profiter des pubs. Nous conseillons à 100%.

My family and I recently stayed at The Coach House (22-26th June). We were blown away with the space we had, every room was huge and so well thought through. It was a home away from home. A beautiful home made cake was there to greet us and Alison was on hand to answer any questions. You’ll feel like you’ve spoilt coming to stay here, so if you are thinking about it definitely do it! We will be back, there is so much to explore both in the Forest of Dean and the neighbouring South Wales.

Mark Sharmar Drake 19 - 24th June 2023

My wife and I needed a good sized property located for easy access to the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean. This property is perfectly located in a quiet village within easy reach of excellent walks and cycle routes. The Coach House is comfy, well equipped and in a quiet spot. The pub nearby did good food and is within 2 minutes walking distance. Overall a superb spot. The owners were on hand for enquiries and were very helpful.

A lovely house to stay in, for four OAP friends. We met up for lunch in the Ostrich and visited the church on our first afternoon. We got out to Symonds Yat on our first full day and enjoyed sitting in the garden chairs in the late afternoon. The kitchen was easy to use, as we self catered for two nights. We visited Tintern Abbey on the next day and watched a falconry display, and then treated ourselves to a meal at the Ostrich on our last night. All very delightful things to do while we were there and we felt so at home, going back to the Coach House each day. Highly recommended.

The cottage is spacious and well appointed. The bedrooms are large and comfortable. The cottage was warm and cosy in the cold weather. We had everything we needed. A great stay! We would definitely go again.

Kerry Murray 24th October 2022

Three huge bedrooms, very comfy beds and a warm house. It is in a lovely setting, not really a village, no shop but a lovely pub currently only open Thurs-Sun. Set in beautiful countryside and good walking.

Lovely area quiet and pretty. Ideall for our needs 4 older ladies on a weekend away. The beds were really comfortable and the property was well equipped for all our needs. Would definitely book again

Kate Norton 11 August 2022

Everything you could need was thought of and provided in the property. Plenty of equipment in the kitchen, so anything you needed had been thought of! Plenty of space, sitting areas, board games and 2 tvs. It was also lovely and cool inside when temperatures outside were in the 30s. Beautiful church opposite and a village pub within walking distance'm a paragraph. Click once to begin entering your own content. Booked the property to meet up with family, and work remotely. Worked out perfectly. It’s a quiet location and well placed to explore the area. Off street parking is a bonus, and an easy walk to The Ostrich for some good home cooked food. Thanks!!

We stayed for a long weekend and found the property to be absolutely ideal- it's full of character yet extremely practical. It housed our 3 couples extremely comfortably and we did all our own cooking as the local pub was temporarily closed

Claire Fuller 13 May 2022

Beautiful property, very high standard of cleanliness which was much appreciated, everything included that we would have wanted or needed. Lots of pubs in nearby locations which were all friendly and easy to book. Thank you very much Alison!

Loved the location and the house was great. The Kids were able to have their own section away from the Adults! Great dog walks around the local area, and plenty of places to drive to and walk. Monmouth is close (12 mins away) and has take-out and good shops. Our host was super helpful and had great advice. House was very comfortable and well equipped. I would highly reccomend it. The village is small and no shops, so you will need to drive to get supplies, but plenty of shops and towns near by. Great host a very enjoyable holiday.

We had a really comfortable stay at the Coach House. Unfortunately like many others we were impacted by Storm Arwen, but Alison and Dave did what they could to minimise the impact. Lovely location for getting out into the countryside.

Dawn Martin 30th October 2021

The cottage is spacious and comfortable with excellent showers, comfortable beds and a lovely enclosed courtyard great for our dogs. The owners were very friendly and communicated well prior to our arrival. We very much appreciated the cake. The village of Newland is very pretty with lots to do and see within a few miles. Would thoroughly recommend a stay at the coach house.

Esme Young 23 October 2021

The perfect house in the perfect location. We had a really relaxing break. Our hosts were very thoughtful and left a lot of little extras which enhanced our stay, including a lovely homemade cake. The accommodation was very comfortable and well appointed.

Lovely property with masses of space. We were 6 adults and there was heaps of space for all of us. Very clean and tidy. We ordered a meal for Sunday night from the owners and it was delicious and plentiful. Easy to find and easy access to all attractions. Highly recommend.

Highly recommend a stay at the Coach House. Received a warm welcome and a delicious home made cake on arrival.

Loved the layout, plenty of space for two families and our dogs. The Coach House is very well equipped with two smart TVs, very fast internet, and everything you need in the kitchen.

The house was lovely and clean and warm.

The location is great too - it's nice and quiet with lots to do within easy reach. Lots of walks nearby including some lovely walks from the house.

Really appreciated the thoughtful touches such as descriptions and maps for walks.I'm a paragraph. Click once to begin entering your own content. You can change my font, size, line height, colour and more by highlighting part of me and selecting the options from the toolbar.

We stayed at The Coach House for my Dad's 70th birthday. The house was clean, well equipped and very spacious for six of us. We really enjoyed the coffee and walnut cake! The location is ideal for exploring this beautiful area and the pub (two minutes walk from the house) serves good food. Thank you Alison for hosting us, we hope to return soon.

A lovely cottage in a delightful village.  Thank you for the cake and tea supplies - very welcome after a long journey.  We spent a busy week visiting many plaecs in teh surrounding area and really enjoyed the beauty of the wye valley.  Excellent food at the Ostrich.  Would throughly recommend this cottage and a holiday in this area.

Stayed at the Coach House for 3 nights. Its a lovely place and very well appointed and loads of space, it has everything you will need. We didn't get to go outside (terrible weather) but there is also a nice dining area with a sunny aspect. Newland is lovely village and the house is located opposite a grand church, we would also recommend the pub where the food (and beer) was very good, just 2 min walk. Overall much recommended

For a party of 6 “very particular” guests, the Coach House could not have been a more perfect place to stay. Immaculately clean, which was very reassuring in these strange times and there were plenty of products available to ensure we could keep it a safe environment. The accommodation is so very well equipped, comfortable, spacious and luxurious, whilst still managing to maintain a cosy atmosphere. Ali’s hospitality, including the home made cake was second to none! Set in a quite village, with a great pub virtually on the doorstep, there is plenty to see and do if you choose to venture into the surrounding areas. We were very lucky with the weather so we’re also able to take full advantage of the private courtyard to sit and relax in the sunshine. Would absolutely recommend a stay in this gorgeous property - 100%. Thanks Ali for making 6 “OAPs” very happy!

We had a lovely stay at the coach house. The location was tranquil and quiet with wonderful views. The Kitchen and Bathroom's were spot on. What made our stay so good was Alison's cooking , we are gluten and dairy free and like to eat healthy. With no effort on my part, Alison drew up a menu for Lunch and Dinner for our 3 night stay , it was delicious and you could taste the home made goodness. We will be back. It was simply perfect.

Heather Surridge  May 8, 2018

quirky, well stocked and comfy beds there was enough space for all and the kitchen was lovely. the new fandangled microwave took a bit of getting used to though!! Alison even provided us with enough dishwasher tabs for us to use during our stay - now that IS attention to minute detail. All the bedrooms had matching bedding and the beds were fabulously comfy. Alison provided us with a cot also for my grandson and a great high chair too. Thank you Alison for all you correspondence when I get a bit jittery about things. you answered all my incessant queries with calm diplomacy. What a star!!

We spent a weekend at The Coach House. The house was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and well equipped. Newland is a lovely village with good walks from the doorstep and a nice old pub with great food. Highly recommended.

Just returned from our second stay at this wonderful property, there will be a third and a fourth and....... The only downside, I left the fruit cake behind, it was delicious

Thank you so much Alison for a wonderful stay in your gorgeous Coach House. Thank you also for the fabulous meal for Mom's birthday and the lovely home made cake which was waiting for us when we arrived. Beautiful, peaceful location. House was wonderful with every amenity catered for. We stayed as parents, grandparents and great-grandparents so there was plenty of space to accommodate us all along with little baby.

We stayed at the Coach House in late spring this year and what a fabulous weekend that was. The entire place was so comfortable and spacious, we(grandparents/parents/small child)were able to just relax. Everything was top notch but a special mention for kitchens and bathrooms 5*. The owners added plenty of personal extras to our stay which is not something you get everyday. Can't wait to return.

Wendy Price  Aug 7, 2017

We had a wonderful weekend at the coach house with our son and his girlfriend. The downstairs bedroom being self contained was ideal for our needs. There was everything required in the kitchen for preparing meals. Big comfy sofas to curl up on and outdoor seating for afternoon tea, just perfect. The coffee machine (with pods provided) and the gorgeous home made cakes were delicious. We had a peaceful and relaxing time which is what we were looking for. Excellent location for visiting the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley.

My wife and I spent a beautiful long weekend at the Coach House. The village is amazing, so much character and has a wonderful pub (The Ostrich) just a few metres away. We enjoyed a meal here on the Saturday evening. We have booked again, this time bringing family with us. The accommodation is done to a high standard and with the kitchen being so well equipped it makes cooking easy, something we will make more use of next time. Thank you for your hospitality Alison.
